We can help you get your building(s) all set up and running in the benchmarking tool Portfolio Manager.
When you first join the Durham Greener Buildings Challenge, we will arrange for a phone call or online virtual consultation. During this consultation we will go over the particulars of your Durham Region building(s) and the scope of what you can do to accomplish your energy-efficiency goals. We can also help you get set up and running in the North American industry standard Energy Star Portfolio Manager, the online benchmarking tool licensed by Natural Resources Canada.

Though Portfolio Manager was designed to be easily accessible with a short learning curve — as you move forward in your benchmarking efforts you may hit snags along the way. We have all had moments of frustration as we get acquainted with a new application. As a participant in the Durham Greener Buildings Challenge, you will have free access to consultations (by phone or virtual meeting) with the Portfolio Manager specialists at the Benchmarking Help Centre.
Meet your EWRB reporting obligations
Use the same Portfolio Manager data for both The Greener Buildings Challenge and your EWRB reporting.
Under Ontario's Energy and Water Reporting and Benchmarking (EWRB) regulation, owners of large buildings are required to report their building's energy and water use once a year to the Ministry of Energy. If you haven't yet complied with the regulation, the Durham Greener Buildings Challenge offers a great opportunity to get any help you may need to do so.
